Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy
“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” is the fourth installment in the beloved Bridget Jones film series, scheduled for release on February 14, 2025. Renรฉe Zellweger reprises her iconic role as Bridget Jones, now navigating life as a widowed single mother of two following the tragic death of her husband, Mark Darcy, previously portrayed by Colin Firth.
The film follows Bridget as she balances the challenges of raising her children, Billy and Mabel, with re-entering the dating scene in the digital age. She finds herself torn between two new romantic interests: a younger man named Roxster, played by Leo Woodall, and her son’s science teacher, Mr. Wallaker, portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Hugh Grant returns as the charming yet unpredictable Daniel Cleaver, adding complexity to Bridget’s romantic endeavors. The cast also includes Emma Thompson as Doctor Rawlings, Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones as Bridget’s parents, and newcomers Isla Fisher and Nico Parker in supporting roles.
Directed by Michael Morris, the film is based on Helen Fielding’s 2013 novel of the same name, which reflects contemporary themes such as single parenthood, social media, and online dating. The screenplay is co-written by Fielding, Dan Mazer, and Abi Morgan.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” will be available for streaming on Peacock in the United States starting February 13, 2025, and will premiere in theaters internationally on February 14, 2025.
