Night at the Museum (2006)

Larry Daley, played by Ben Stiller, is a divorced, down-on-his-luck man struggling to connect with his son, Nick. In need of a steady job, Larry takes a position as the night guard at the museum. He soon learns that the job is anything but ordinary when the exhibitsβ€”including wax statues, dioramas, and taxidermied animalsβ€”spring to life after dark.

Key characters who come to life include:

  • Teddy Roosevelt (played by Robin Williams): The wise and adventurous 26th President of the United States.
  • Dexter the Capuchin Monkey: A mischievous little troublemaker.
  • Rexy the T-Rex skeleton: A surprisingly playful dinosaur.
  • Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and Octavius (Steve Coogan): Miniature cowboy and Roman general figures who have a rivalry but later form a bond.
  • Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek): The Egyptian prince whose magical tablet is responsible for bringing everything in the museum to life.

As Larry navigates the chaos of living exhibits and mischievous antics, he uncovers a plot by the previous guards to steal the magical tablet. With the help of the animated exhibits, Larry learns to be a leader, saves the museum, and earns the respect of his son.

The movie’s charm lies in its humor, imaginative premise, and heartfelt moments. It was a box office hit, spawning two live-action sequels and an animated spinoff.
