The Divide (2011) update

The Divide (2011) is a post-apocalyptic horror-thriller directed by Xavier Gens. The movie is set in New York City and begins with a nuclear attack that devastates the city. A group of survivors, including Eva (Lauren German), her boyfriend Sam (Iván González), and other residents of their apartment building, seek refuge in the building’s basement, which has been turned into a fallout shelter by the building’s super, Mickey (Michael Biehn).

As the survivors settle in, tensions quickly rise due to the cramped and claustrophobic conditions. Mickey, a paranoid and controlling man, tries to enforce strict rules in the shelter, causing friction with the rest of the group. Fear, paranoia, and desperation set in as food and resources become scarce, and the survivors begin to turn on each other.

Their already fragile stability is further shattered when a group of men in hazmat suits breaches the shelter. The men abduct a young girl, and the survivors are forced to fend off the attackers, who seal them back inside. The group becomes increasingly fractured, and some members begin to lose their sanity. Power struggles erupt, and humanity gives way to barbarism as members of the group resort to violence, betrayal, and abuse.
