As of January 2025, there is no official movie titled “Tales from the Crypt Returns.” The original “Tales from the Crypt” was a horror anthology TV series that aired from 1989 to 1996, based on the EC Comics series created by William Gaines. The show featured the Crypt Keeper introducing various horror stories and became a cult classic.
In recent years, there have been attempts to revive the “Tales from the Crypt” franchise. Notably, in 2016, director M. Night Shyamalan was involved in developing a reboot for TNT. However, by December 2018, Shyamalan confirmed that the project was “dead” due to complex rights issues.
In October 2024, a viral Facebook post claimed that a new “Tales from the Crypt” series would premiere on Max (formerly HBO Max) on October 25, 2024, featuring the return of the Crypt Keeper in 10 new episodes.
