“The Old Guard 2” is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Victoria Mahoney, serving as a sequel to the 2020 film “The Old Guard.” The screenplay, written by Greg Rucka, is based on his comic book series of the same name.

The film continues the story of Andy and her team of immortal mercenaries as they undertake new missions to protect humanity. This time, they face a formidable new foe who threatens the very fabric of the Old Guard, while also dealing with the return of an immortal who was thought to be long lost.

Principal photography began in June 2022 in Italy, with some filming at Cinecittà Studios. In August 2022, a fire on set caused production delays, but filming was completed by September 2022. Post-production faced interruptions due to regime changes at Netflix but was eventually completed. Additional photography took place in October 2024.

As of January 2025, “The Old Guard 2” is in post-production, with a release date yet to be announced. The film is expected to premiere on Netflix.
